Maybelline Color Whispers

 I just now realised that I wrote Whisperers instead of Whispers ... Ooops!

Long time ago I bought five of Maybelline Color Whispers by Color Sensational just when they came out and also I took pictures and everything, but I didn't have anywhere to publish the pictures so since I started a blog, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to review them.

The claims from the company:

• Get truly translucent gel color.
• Sexy, soft, see through color.
• No heavy waxes or oils.
• Just a kiss of shine.

They definitely stick to their claims. They have a gel-like consistency and they are very see through, which I like. The formula doesn't feel heavy on the lips at all and they are shiny as heck!
They smell very fruity, but not enough for me! Also the scent disappears very quickly.

There are around 10 shades available in the collection here in Croatia which range from neutrals to crazy vibrant shades.
Packaging wise, Maybelline blew me away! It's very sturdy, yet plastic, which makes it practical to carry with you. The only thing I would complain is that we don't have the pretty writing on the caps :( although I think it's because I live in Europe, not in the USA. You get .11 oz or 3 g which is OK, but it could be better because you use them up a lot!
The thing that put me off of these is the staying power. They barely stay on for an hour, even less. They need to be constantly reapplied. Also most of the shades go into the fine lines, but if you apply some of them more carefully they might be crease less for about half an hour!

The colours that I have:

Bare To Be Bold - a pale nude with no shimmer, one of my three favourites, very everyday appropriate, pretty sheer but gives enough colour

Mocha Muse - my second favourite, MLBB (my lips but better) shade, I can wear this like a lip color enhancer because it gives my natural lip colour that little extra kick when I want it

Pink Possibilities - my third favourite, medium opacity on the lips, nice for everyday wear and to brighten up your natural look

Faint for Fuchsia - more vibrant and cool toned pink, and also more pigmented, I wouldn't wear it for everyday purposes

I don't have a lip swatch here because the colour was so splochy and creased that I didn't want to put a picture here

Oh La Lilac - my least favourite shade of all of them, doesn't suit my skin tone at all, creases more then the others, but looks really nice in the bullet

The price on these is around 60 kunas here in Croatia, and about 6 dollars (around 24 kunas) in the USA which is an insane difference, but everything is a lot more expensive here.

Overall/recommendation: 4/5; I would recommend these for someone who likes to wear more pigmented things than lip balms, but not as pigmented as lipsticks. They don't stay on the lip for a long time, so keep in mind that you'll need to keep reapplying it more constantly than a regular lipstick. I wouldn't repurchase them just because of the staying power!
